Dr. Gomez completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology Fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

He is a Fellow Member of the American College of Physicians and Fellow Member of the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Gomez is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Rheumatology. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Gomez served as the Chief Ad Interim of the Section of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He was as also Chief of Clinical Services in Rheumatology of Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of the section of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology at Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston.

Dr. Gomez graduated as a Master Teacher from the Baylor College of Medicine/University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston combined program and served as the Program Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship program at Baylor College of Medicine training the future generation of rheumatologists.
